Lissenung Island Resort is located on a small and private island, approximately 20 minutes by boat out of Kavieng, with a maximum of only 14 guests in beachfront bungalows. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed in an environmentally friendly, tropical setting, with a white, sandy beach, swaying coconut palms and lush, tropical gardens - its secluded location is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Water temperature is about 29°C/85F all year round and the underwater visibility is between 30 and 40 meters/90-120 feet on most dives.

On almost all dive sites, permanent moorings are used to avoid damage from anchoring. A 'no-touch'-policy has also been introduced to help protect the beautiful and delicate eco-system around the island.

Accommodation & Amenities

Accommodation: All accommodations feature hardwood floors and ensuite bathrooms (except for the single room which has a detached bathroom).The bungalows are fully screened, have ceiling fans, mosquito nets and offer comfortable patio seating areas. They are spread out to give guests maximum privacy. There is 24 hour electricity supply, although the water is not heated.

Amenities: The main complex housing the restaurant and bar has a natural sand floor.
Fresh seafood, such as fish, crabs and crayfish (lobster) feature

high on a menu where set meals are served. Special dietary
requirements can be catered for by request. All of the seafood is bought direct from local fishermen, ensuring it is caught in a sustainable manner. Fresh fruit and vegetables come from the local market, or the Lissenung garden.
Beer and Wine are available at the resort, but feel free to bring along your own alcoholic beverages. Spirits are often unavailable in PNG.

Activities: Lissenung Dive has a fully equipped dive shop and three dive boats, capable of comfortably carrying 6, 8 and 10 divers respectively.
There are daily boat trips to the outer reefs, drop offs and wrecks with a maximum of 3 dives per day offered. An extra bonus are the free shore dives on the fantastic Lissenung Island house reef, where over 175 different species of fish have been counted.

Further activities include surfing, kite surfing, fishing, snorkeling & village tours.
